The Toronto Raptors are a reinvigorated team, having enjoyed recent success both on the court and as a brand thanks to a marketing campaign that emphasizes their geographic location and the involvement of rapper Drake.

Playing up the fact it’s the only club north of the 49th parallel, Toronto recently rebranded with the assistance of the popular “We The North” slogan, an updated claw logo, and a graffiti-inspired street theme, and even more new imagery is reportedly on the way.

The team will unveil blue alternate uniforms that pay homage to the Toronto Huskies on Tuesday, according to TSN’s Josh Lewenberg.

In a video released Monday, the Raptors warned that “worlds will collide” and promised to “unleash” the franchise’s past, flashing husky-like graphics throughout the 15-second clip.

The jerseys were designed in honor of the 1946-47 Toronto Huskies, who hosted the first game in NBA history (when it was called the Basketball Association of America) before folding at the end of the campaign.

The Raptors brought back Huskies jerseys for a few games during the 2009-10 season, when star shooting guard DeMar DeRozan was a rookie out of USC.
