Nothing is imminent, nothing is certain, but the San Francisco Giants have made their play for Miami Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.

The Giants reportedly offered shortstop Christian Arroyo, outfielder Chris Shaw, right-handed pitcher Tyler Beede, and outfielder Heliot Ramos in exchange for Stanton, according to SiriusXM’s Craig Mish. MLB Pipeline lists them as the Giants’ top four prospects.

In addition, the Giants are willing to take on $250 million in Stanton’s remaining salary.

Arroyo is the only one to have made his MLB debut. He played 34 games in 2017, hitting .192 with three home runs and 14 RBIs. The 22-year-old found more success in Triple-A, but only played in 25 games at that level. After breaking his hand in a minor-league game on July 1st, he underwent surgery and missed the rest of the season.

Shaw and Beede, both 24, reached Triple-A in 2017 and could wind up in the majors in 2018. Ramos’ path may take a little longer, as he played 35 games in 2017 in rookie ball, batting .348/.404/.645 with six home runs, six triples, and 10 stolen bases.

No matter how tantalizing the offer may be for the Marlins, it ultimately comes down to Stanton and his full no-trade clause. The two most aggressive suitors have been the Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals.
