Shohei Ohtani is considering a Hollywood beginning.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, perhaps hoping to shore up a roster that was one win away from a World Series championship, met with the two-way Japanese star on Monday, sources told The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal.

One of the seven finalists to land Ohtani, the Dodgers were granted an early meeting along with the San Francisco Giants, who also made their pitch on Monday.

The competition for the 23-year-old pitcher-outfielder also includes the Texas Rangers, as general manager Jon Daniels reportedly flew to Los Angeles with other team officials, according to Jeff Wilson of the Star-Telegram.

It’s possible a meeting has already taken place, or they could be face-to-face on Tuesday.

The other teams set to sell Ohtani on their respective clubs are the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels, San Diego Padres, and Seattle Mariners.
