New York City FC is being booted from Yankee Stadium once more.

The New York Yankees‘ potential Game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the visiting Houston Astros on Oct. 18 will force the MLS franchise to contest its last match of the regular season at Citi Field.

The Columbus Crew will be NYCFC’s opponent on Oct. 22.

The change of venue to the New York Mets‘ abode occurs soon after a home bout with the Houston Dynamo on Sept. 23 was shifted to the unfamiliar confines of Pratt & Whitney Stadium. The encounter was staged at that venue – 107 miles away in Hartford, Conn. – because the Yankees had to make up a rained-out MLB game at Yankee Stadium.

“Citi Field is an excellent ballpark which has hosted international soccer matches in the past,” said sporting director Claudio Reyna. “From a sporting perspective, this represents an easy transition which would allow our team to get the result we will be looking for.”

NYCFC is already assured of a place in the 2017 MLS postseason, and is positioned second in the Eastern Conference with two matches left.
