Two months after the NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers finally announced Tuesday the signing of No. 2 pick Brandon Ingram.

Terms of the deal were not released as per team policy, but nearly every team signs first-round picks to the maximum allowable 120 percent of the rookie-scale contract.

Under that arrangement, Ingram would earn $5.3 million in 2016-17 on a four-year deal that would run nearly $24 million. Given the Lakers paid upwards of $8 million for Yi Jianlian and $16 million to Timofey Mozgov, Ingram’s deal should be a bargain for the foreseeable future.

The 6-foot-10 forward projects to be a two-way menace if he manages to bulk up. Ingram is a deadly 3-point shooter, he can slash to the basket, and has an enormous 7-foot-3 wingspan which combines with his elite quickness to give him the tools to develop into a dominant defender.

As a freshman, Ingram averaged 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks in 34.6 minutes at Duke.
