The injury bug has stricken Cody Zeller once again.

The Charlotte Hornets forward has been listed as out indefinitely after suffering a torn medial meniscus in his left knee.

The injury occurred with 49 seconds remaining in the third quarter of Wednesday’s 101-87 home loss to the Golden State Warriors.

Zeller will now explore treatment options, with further updates on his long-term status being provided when available.

Now in his fifth season with Charlotte after being drafted fourth overall in 2013, Zeller has moved to a reserve role with Dwight Howard now serving as the starting center. Through 19 games, Zeller has averaged 7.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.1 rejections while converting nearly half of his shot attempts (49.5).

He sat out 20 games during the 2016-17 campaign due to a concussion, a quadriceps contusion, and illness. Zeller also didn’t suit up for four of the Hornets’ first five games this season because of a bone bruise in his right knee.

He agreed to a four-year, $56-million contract extension with the organization last October.
