CONCACAF Champions League final – schedule, score, preview

Toronto FC’s bid to become the first MLS side to win the CONCACAF Champions League continues Wednesday when the Canadian club visits Chivas de Guadalajara in the second match of the two-legged series.

2nd leg

  • Date: April 25 at Estadio Chivas
  • Kick-off: 10:30 p.m. ET

Though the first leg at BMO Field did not go the way home side Toronto FC would have hoped, a 2-1 scoreline heading into the second game provides both the Reds and Chivas de Guadalajara with an even matchup. Conditions at the Estadio Akron will certainly be more favorable to both sides, and a positive result is anything but assured for either camp.

Chivas has two away goals, of course, which makes its task significantly more straightforward: A win or a draw of any margin would give the Goats their first-ever CONCACAF Champions League title. A 1-0 loss would also do the trick, while a 2-1 defeat would pave the way for penalties. Any other scoreline of defeat for the Mexican side would instead see Toronto celebrate the title.
