The Cleveland Cavaliers have reeled off 13 straight wins without their starting center and biggest offseason acquisition.

Still, Tyronn Lue will be happy to have more weapons in Isaiah Thomas and Tristan Thompson, who, the coach says, are both close to coming back but don’t have a specific timetable.

“I’m not sure,” Lue said of Thomas’ return date, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, adding that Thompson will “hopefully” play this week.

Thomas began participating in four-on-four half-court drills Wednesday, the latest step in his rehabilitation from a labral hip tear. The Cavs have reportedly moved up his targeted return date to mid-December from their earlier estimate of January.

The Cavs have found a groove during the win streak by starting Jae Crowder and Kevin Love at the four and five, respectively. Thompson is expected to return to his starting center spot, shifting Love up and sending Crowder back to the second unit – although Thompson did begin the season coming off the bench.

Either way, the Canadian wouldn’t disclose when he’d suit up.

“I’ll be ready to return when the front office and them say I’m ready to return … yep, the medical team,” Thompson said. “I got to stay in my lane like LaVar Ball said.”
