When Brent Suter makes his major-league debut Friday against the Seattle Mariners, the 26-year-old will do something no Milwaukee Brewers starter has done since 2013: pitch left-handed.

The Brewers haven’t had a left-handed pitcher start since Tom Gorzelanny on Aug. 28, 2013 – a string of 474 games. Gorzelanny allowed four runs off nine hits in 5 1/3 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates that evening.

Suter, who was selected in the 31st round of the 2012 draft, went 6-6 with a 3.50 ERA across 26 appearances with Triple-A Colorado Springs.
