The Toronto Blue Jays will welcome back a familiar face to their organization after making a trade Friday.

Toronto acquired catcher Dioner Navarro from the Chicago White Sox in exchange for minor-league left-hander Colton Turner, the teams announced.

Navarro, 32, spent 2014 and ’15 with the Blue Jays before signing with the White Sox this past offseason. During his time with the Blue Jays, he hit .267/.315/.390 with 17 home runs and 89 RBIs.

“He’ll fit right in with the clubhouse,” general manager Ross Atkins told reporters. Atkins added, “When we made the staff aware that he would be joining us they were extremely excited.”

The 13-year MLB veteran appeared in 85 games for the White Sox this season, struggling to a .210/.267/.339 slash line, including six home runs and 32 RBIs.

Over the course of his career, he owns a .251/.309/.372 line with 77 home runs and 364 RBIs.

The switch-hitting backstop is owed the remainder of his $4-million salary.

Turner, 25, struck out 70 hitters in 54 innings this season, spending most of his time with Single-A Dunedin. Toronto drafted the native of Texas in the 21st round of the 2012 entry draft.
